Pro Dev Tip – Active Listening

When working with either a student or a colleague, make sure you take the time to really listen to what they have to say.  When you listen attentively, showing empathy and an understanding of the individual’s needs, then you strengthen trust and help to build a stronger relationship.  In the case of students who may be new to WNMU, using active listening skills can also help to foster a sense of belonging and assist us in anticipating their needs.
