Welcome to WNMU!

We are excited to welcome you to our herd, where we’re Mustangs Serving Mustangs.   You will receive the New Employee Welcome Packet on your first day which is filled with a wealth of information and resources to help you get familiar with our great university and the opportunities awaiting you.

Over the next 90 days, you will attend New Employee Orientation, complete your onboarding trainings, and begin to familiarize yourself with policies, procedures, and much more.  We look forward to supporting you throughout the transition to your new role.  We’re not only glad that you’ve joined our team…we’re glad you chose WNMU!

New Employee Orientation

During the New Employee Orientation we will be sharing the WNMU Mission/Vision and Core Values. You’ll have an opportunity to meet your newest colleagues, hear from different departments, and learn about our shared governance structure.  We will also be introducing you to the culture of WNMU through our service excellence training program.

Staff

The office of Pro Dev will send out SAVE THE DATE emails to all recipients who qualify for orientation.  Dates are subject to change based on participation.

Faculty

Faculty orientations will typically be held in August (Fall Semester) and January (Spring Semester), prior to the start of classes, to welcome new faculty to the campus.  The Office of Academic Affairs, Faculty Development & Professional Development will work closely together to coordinate these events.  Dates & details will be determined based on semester start dates.

Onboarding Plan

A 30-60-90 day plan outlines the first 90 days of a new team member’s employment and familiarizes you with WNMU’s policies, team work, and goals. This action plan helps you check off essential items as you adjust to your new work environment. We recommend working with your supervisor on this plan. Onboarding Training

Via Skillsets: There are 6 customer service/professionalism modules that are required to be completed within the next 30 days as part of your WNMU onboarding process.  You will be receiving your Welcome Email from SKILLSETS shortly with your credentials.  Attached are the instructions on how to log on.  Once in, type in the Module Title in the search field and it will bring up the module you need.  Your GOLD MEDALLION AWARD awaits you upon completion of all the modules.  They are each ~25 minutes in length.
